Ishika B

North Carolina

Ishika B, 11, is a student who loves exploring how science and technology can improve people’s lives. She is especially interested in neuroscience, artificial intelligence, and engineering. Her project, NightWatch: The Pillow That Dreams With You, was inspired by the growing problem of sleep loss and the challenges many people face in understanding their sleep habits. Using an Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense Rev2 board, sensors, and data analysis, she created a prototype sleep-tracking pillow designed to provide a more comfortable and user-friendly alternative to traditional sleep studies. Outside of her research projects, Ishika enjoys reading, learning about new scientific discoveries, and participating in STEM activities and academic competitions. She received the Young Researcher Award and has participated in NC Battle of the Books. She also enjoys collaborating with classmates, sharing ideas, and encouraging other students to explore science and innovation. In the future, Ishika hopes to continue studying neuroscience, bioinformatics, and AI to develop technologies that can improve health and well-being.
